Sentry Maintenance
|
| |
When the SentryVoice option is activated in Omniphone's SentryLink on-site software, recording inmate conversations and/or other communications in the jail can begin. Each voice recording is initially stored as a standard WAV file on the hard drive of the SentryLink Server. Approximately 33 hours of telephone quality voice recordings can be stored per gigabyte of hard drive space. The hard drive on the SentryLink Server will eventually reach its capacity unless someone or something intervenes. This is the job of SentryLink Maintenance. The new SentryLink Maintenance program included with the new SentryLink version 3.01 on-site administration software provides a more efficient, automated way of handling voice recording file management tasks.
- After recording files reach a specified age the SentryLink Maintenance program can automatically remove the voice recording files from the main hard drive and send them to an archive drive. The archive drive can be a DVD-RW drive, CD-RW drive, network drive, tape drive, or an external/internal hard drive. The files may also be automatically removed and not archived.
- The hard drive can also be managed based on the remaining free space on the hard drive. After the hard drive has reached a specified level of remaining free space, then the oldest recording files can be removed and archived or removed and not archived.
- The SentryLink Maintenance program can be set to automatically run at the same time each day or it can be run manually any time.
